Canyon State Academy is home for troubled boys who need opportunities for treatment and skills development that will change the direction of their lives. The 173-acre campus in Queen Creek, Arizona offers a variety of program venues – from temporary shelter to long-term placement – that provide a continuum of care that is both nurturing and challenging.

Canyon State Academy is administered as a cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based program, utilizing a restorative justice approach. Rite of Passage staff provides a model for group living through demonstrating respect, tolerance, and the giving and receiving of feedback. Students are required to meet high standards of academic, vocational, behavioral and athletic accomplishments.

At Rite of Passage, it is our mission to provide an environment where all youth feel safe, learning thrives, and accountability for behavior is a source of pride. We believe that changing behavior first requires an atmosphere of trust and safety and that all student needs are met.  This is why Rite of Passage’s facilities are licensed, accredited and meet the highest standards and requirements of our industry.
